We work in a couple of ways...

cbdopineapplealone

Health and Safety

We’re working on initiatives that improve the well-being of Wahiawa, including projects that bring healthy food options, better venues to exercise, and strategies to improve health and reduce stress. And we worked in partnership with local groups to make Wahiawa a Blue Zone Demonstration site.

Diversified Agriculture

The CBDO is in complete support of the Whitmore Project and the effort to bring diversified agriculture to Central Oahu. In particular, we believe that agriculture and agritourism can be drivers for improving economic opportunities for our residents.

What is Wahiawa Fresh? What is the CBDO?

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a board of directors made up of people who live or work in Wahiawa. The Wahiawa Community Based Development Organization (CBDO) works within the Wahiawa Community NRSA (Neighborhood Revitalization Strategic Area). Our NRSA includes Wahiawa Town, Whitmore Village and parts of Schofield, and this designation gives us special consideration for federal grants to help low to moderate income residents in our area and to provide public service to the community in general.

NRSA

The City and County of Honolulu has designated Wahiawa as a U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) NRSA (Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area) on Oahu. The area which the Wahiawa CBDO will work in includes all of Wahiawa west of Kamehameha Highway, extends south through Wilikina Drive to Waianae Ave, north to the Easternmost boundary of the Haleiwa CDP, east to parts of Uluwehi and Uuku Street, and west to State Highway 803.

Wahiawa Fresh!

Wahiawa Fresh! is our DBA name, and it’s just an easier way to recognize us in the community. After all, saying “Wahiawa Community Based Development Organization” is quite a mouthful!  We’re working hard to bring exciting projects and improvements to Wahiawa and partnering with other groups. Look for our “W” logo around town.
